Rethinking Menopausal Health. Let's Do This!

When moving through menopause, women's bodies undergo changes that will impact every aspect of health and wellbeing for the rest of our lives. A strong transition in our 40s and 50s sets us up for many more happy decades of living, loving and exploring.

01

Lean Muscle

Resistance training and yoga build lean muscle mass, improve metabolism, and increase power and energy levels

02

Strong Bones

Plyometric training (jumping), bodyweight training, and a healthy diet reduce the risk of bone weakness through menopause

03

Healthy Heart

Cardiovascular and resistance training, combined with a healthy diet, protect against the cardiovascular ill health often triggered in menopause

04

Happy Gut

Protein, 'good' carbs and fats, and eating the rainbow work together during menopause to ward off tummy fat, hot flushes, and chronic disease development

Through exercise, nutrition and yoga I help my clients move through the menopause with confidence, strength, and energy.

Personal Training

I'm a certified personal trainer, working face-to-face with clients in my home town and online with those who are further away. Using resistance training and Zone 2-3 cardiovascular training, my clients build muscle, lose weight and gain energy through menopause.

Nutrition

As the old adage goes, 'we are what we eat,' yet so often we don't fully understand how our food impacts our physical health, emotional wellbeing, or longevity. I help my clients work out what will bring out the best in their bodies at each different stage of life.

Yoga

I've practiced yoga for over 20 years and love sharing what it's given me with others, whether that's increased energy, improved strength, balance and flexibility,  or heightened libido. Yoga is also a wonderful complement to strength training.

Now in my mid-50s, I've raised a family, changed career four times, and lived through cancer and divorce. I know that life is full, messy, and eminently wonderful.

I've always loved to exercise, but like you I have not always managed to integrate it into everyday life. Careers in journalism, international development and education have kept me glued to a laptop screen for thirty years. Raising my children, now in their 20s, has filled every other waking moment.

I have slept badly, eaten what and when I could, and put exercise at the end of my 'to do' list. After a brush with cancer I promised myself a few changes.

Nothing changes overnight, but nothing changes at all without that first step.

Let's do this!
